What are the largest wheel/tire combos you guys have been able to get on a 1966 Fury Sport? I believe mine are "15 wheels.

This guy apparently got 28"s to fit...

Does that help?

Here is what I did to my 69 Fury III . My recommendation is to stick with 15 inch wheels. I do not know the 66 but feel overall never try to make a car look what it is not capable of. I chose to fill out the the cavernous rear wheel wells on my Fury so she had abit of an attitude as she does have a 440 big block.. I would never put massive wide wheels on the front of the car that really can't handle. The beauty of your car is the fact it is alive,,,Not to try and compete with what is offered today. Your car seems to be a beauty. If I were you I would revel in her beauty and do not try to have her compete in today's madness.Your car has nothing to prove to anyone. The fact she is alive and well is enough. She will attract more attention this way. My opinion only....

I would PM Commando personally for this info.
After I read the opening post, my initial reaction would be my standard response. Then I thought long and hard about it and though, Nahhh, it aint worth it anymore.
Then Cantflip saved the day.

I think 1966pearlfury is going to fit in here just fine...

And if Turboomni waves around too many more pics of the freestanding three bay garage with all that parking room, he is going on my "you suck" list... at least until I find out if the city will allow me to build one in the back yard in a few years.

The "PM commando1" line was pretty darn good too...

Ya, my thought was just a wider/larger tire for the rear mainly.. the current tires are probably 15 years old although no sign of dry rot. But before I go replacing tires I was just curious of what type of success people have had with other sizes.

I have to say that car is stunning...

I don't love the wheels, but that is similar to trying to notice what shoes a very well built woman is wearing...

What you have looks pretty good to me up front... if you must change to an even smaller sidewall I think you may lose enough ride quality to regret it later on road trips...

I would be curious what size you have on there now. I run 235/70/15's on front and 275/60/15's in the rear. To me on your car the front wheel wells look too full compared to the rear wheel wells which are not full enough.

I agree I want a fatter rear tire

On the rear of my Fury I used 15/8 wheel with 4.5 inch back spacing with no problems.
