yes, true. I know somebody that just paid 6500 for a clean 66' block and crank. Hard core enthusiasts don't want anything to do with the new crate engine. original only,,,

Expect those numbers, engine, and fender tag to show up on another car somewhere. The owner/builder will claim "it's restored!" and someone will buy it.
 
It could have, I was not at all surprised at over 13K. It's a '66 Hemi drivetrain, forget about the body with all the numbers. I wouldn't be surprised that somebody would pay that high bid for the drivetrain if the car wasn't part of it.
