It has been a while since I posted my audio progress so here goes!

I started my journey with a single din am/fm cd player made by Pioneer. Why cd? my customers are usually cd kind of folks if you know what I mean. Lol.

Next were my speakers. I deleted the kick panel vents and made new 6.5 inch speaker baffles to hide my Focal KRX2 midbass drivers (pictured are my Gladen Pro mids). The tweeters are on tombstone mounts that go under the dash and are attached using neo magnets. I want to be able to hide the tweeters and get collector plates.
Rear speakers are Audiofrog 6X9's which are pretty amazing.

I run two Sony mobile GS 12 inch subwoofers in custom trunk boxes made out of Baltic birch wood. Morel class AB 4 channel.amplifier running the front midbass drivers (bridged) and a Morel 5 channel amp for the tweeters, rear speakers and subwoofers, respectively. There are about 50 lbs of sound deadener throughout. Trunk panels are almost complete. Tell.me what you think!

I like what you are doing, but I would never be able to sacrifice the floor vents for a speaker. I use those vents all the time.

That looks nice. Alot of time putting that together. Are the kick panel speakers shallow mount and/or neo magnets? Or do the vent hole give you all the depth you need. And do you plan to cover the speakers with something? Also which model pioneer HU is that? thnx

Thanks! The speakers are full depth and can go even bigger. It's a chasm! I have sound deadened it all as well which really helped with midbass response and rattle reduction.

Oh and the head unit is a Pioneer DEH7200BHS. It's a decent radio with CD and high voltage pre-outputs.

I ran 4 ga from the battery to a distro block. Despite the big amplifiers, its really only about 1200 watts RMS so 4 ga is fine. I upgraded all grounds at the front. 4 ga from battery to chassis, battery to body/frame and engine to chassis.

The biggest trick to prevent whine is to ground the deck top the amplifiers ground to eliminate ground loop isolation. System sounds nice and clean!

I’ve done head unit/glove box installs to preserve the dash and it’s never been convenient driving with the door flopped open. Some newer car audio uses a processor with Bluetooth connectivity I believe. Practically eliminating the head unit altogether. Also I could be wrong. Whew

I was hesitant to use a standard radio but my clients like cd and am/fm as well as Bluetooth. I do hidden Bluetooth receivers all the time!

In between hidden and full radio are these small cheap players. Has everything except CD. $10 Ever tried to use this as a front end?

Problem with cheap Bluetooth players is their output voltage on pre-out. I prefer to get about 2 volts minimum and 4 volts preferred into my amp or amps. That way I don't have to adjust my gain and cause Square wave or clipping to my speakers. High powered clean signal input is the beginning of a beautiful sounding system.

Love “hearing” the good vibes in here. Many purists don’t feel strongly about an amped system in their classic. I decided that I love both cars and sound. Whew

No I left everything "infinite baffle" which worked out pretty amazingly well. Massive amounts of midbass at 60 hz and up. Better than most door installs.
