And the market goes booom

My neighbor laughed when I brought the wagon home about 12 years ago. I think I have the last laugh:mek3:

Eventually, the stupid money will find it's way to C's.
Hi! hey, I never noticed any old Plymouth until mine got towed in with a bad starter that turned out to be weak wrenching by a shop a few miles south of me. I paid what I thought it was worth, and the description to me rolled off the tongue very well.

Big block four speed. I don't care whether it is a ford, chevy, or mopar. Big block, four speed.

my case a very stripped 65 Plymouth Sport Fury. With a very good running 383, and a third pedal. I don't care who you are. If that don't sound good, check your undies for a vag.

They don't even make the wrong one.....

Oooops, Murray didnt make the wrong one? What happened?

I gave Bob Baker a perfect 1970 Plymouth Fury dashpad that would be the same as a 71 Monaco/Polara so he could have that one reproduced as well. Bob is looking for a 1970 Sport Fury for himself, and I might end up selling him my Sport Fury Brougham, so there is real hope.

That damn pad has been a huge problem for so many guys, that'll be a home run. Cant wait to see that

Yes he is Dave. In fact I will be helping him out in his booth at Carlisle.

Fender Chris, Fender...................

I'm pretty sure our C bodys are going to remain just curiositys for a long time to come.

The '60s Impala/Bel Air/Biscaynes bring pretty good money. The '62 - '66 Ford Galaxies pull in the green, too. So do well-optioned full-sized GM cars from the late '50s through the early '70s...so why should Mopars be any different???

The last two have been my thought for 35 years and my argument . The Chevy and Ford guys usually recognize the big brothers..

As cars become valuable, the aftermarket takes over. I don't think anyone will be repopping package trays for the coolest mopars ever (65 fury), but you would be surprised.

The demolition derby crowd hasen't help things much. I get calls from time to time from people many states away wanting to know if I have good bodies. One guy told me he would pay $800.00 for a body. Said he used the same 350 chevie engine in each car he derbyed. There is no telling how many C's have gone that route.

THAT is something that just makes me feel sick.

Just a curiosity. If money is the goal, get something that was popular in the day to the youth at the time. The money follows the dream.

I had forgotten for a minute ... thanks for the reminder

As we've seen on this forum there are quite a few 65 and 66 Fury(s) coming out of the woodwork. They are very close in size to 68-70 B Bodies. They are wider but close in overall length. So A big block and a 4 speed and you're damn close to B body performance. The cost of the car will be less than a B body in similar condition. If you have the drive to build a 65 or 66 you'll have a badass car that people don't see everyday and guaranteed to turn heads.

I got over the 4 speed thing back in 1969. For perfomance the advantage goes to the torqueflight.
4 sp mopars are an image thing. If your shifting .... your falling back ...! And the girls really don't like em either, but if your trying to impress the guys ....... well, do as you may.
Things are becoming much more tolerant towards that these days .......

This is very wise information! In my youth, C bodies were not desirable at all. I could buy them for slightly about scrap value. 25 years later and the same is still true. I'm not holding my breath for a big payday, I'll just spend my time enjoying one of the few remaining affordable classic cars. The only downside to owning lesser desired models is the non-existent aftermarket parts.

C-bodies will rise in value. There's no doubt in that They have to.
But......
So won't everything else.
Don't plan your retirement yet all you financial wizards.

A Chrysler 300 for example. Today: $10,000.00 (just for illustration's sake).
Comparable Chevy? Ummm... Lets say Impala. $18,000.00?
Price gap = $8,000.00 or 56% of the Chevy's value.

Chrysler appreciates 20% so it's value become $12,000.00.
Chevy, of course will appreciate at least 20% or more for a new value of at least $21,600.00.
Price gap = $9,600.00 or 56% of the Chevy's value.

Don't sell your Chevy stock and invest in Chrysler. Never invest in anything where you at best will only break even.

My cars are not an investment. It's my love. And I always pay dearly in love.

Mostly true. But it's still nice to see that finally the c body models get sometime in the spot light.....I'm gonna puke if I see one more "tribute" E/B body car...because the real thing has become strictly investment commodity.

:edit. Friday I saw a real live Plymouth Superbird out on 295 south. I just about soiled my undies.

I wanna say Vitamin C Orange? The guy was headed south, I was going north in the fast lane. He was all the over in the slow lane (south). I saw him coming (how do you not see a bright orange wing)....he saw me at the last moment. Thumbs up at each other then it was over.
