Another 440 rebuild

Well I'll talk to my engine builder and maybe just swap out the spring for a stock one on my HP pump.

Ok, finally found some numbers.

My 66 has a number on the top of the block front right by the valley pan.

My 68 had no number there but was one bottom of block by the starter.

The 66 has HP stamped in the second line on the right? Also the exhaust manifolds look slightly different

So I guess the first question is are these the same? My intention is to send the 68 block out for rebuild and swap it in. That way I can still stay driving all summer...))

Get an estimate for redoing your heads.You may come out better buying a set of aluminum heads on dollars alone.The performance would be free.The sidewinder heads mopartsracing - Sidewinder Cylinder Heads For Big Block Mopar
would be hard to beat if the bill on your heads even comes close to what these cost.Doesn't mean you have to go crazy with everything else.
Would allow more compression safely.Use your stock rockers and manifolds and maybe a comp 260 cam (or the like) and the smile will never leave your face.

Well, my project got stalled..driving the son to his girlfriend and my muffler dropped to the pavement...looked good underneath but it has rusted at the rear connection to pipe. Sooo...I'm swapping exhaust manifolds right now to the ones off the 68 and getting a full dual exhaust put in. 2.5 true dual with flowmaster 40s

Huge difference from the 66 to the 68 manifolds. Think that's the 25ish HP change between them.
