Anyone seen a bug guard like this on a formal NY'er?

Until IT goes bankrupt. That is what I am saying.
Ain't no money coming in anymore. How much longer can it go out?
With Cash Cow UPS now pulled out of it, it's a matter of time.
All the companies that are now unionized by the Teamsters are going 401...

I drove to South Dakota six years ago for a '66 Dodge pickup bed trailer with a perfect factory chrome rear bumper attached, and that was two days and 1,580 miles. Drove to North Dakota in 2001 to trade a guy a 1988 Cherokee for a near-perfect 1956 Hudson Super Wasp - in January - in minus 10*F snow...nearly 2,000 miles R/T. If you want something, you go to get it.

Distance really is not a worry for the right deal.

I have one on my truck. My neighbor hs the same truck and doesn't have one on his truck and his hood has all kinds of stone chips on that area of his hood.

Aren't these things just a piece of extruded aluminum with a slot to hold the lexan material of choice and a couple of mounting brackets? Could just about any competent sheetmetal shop whip one up? Most of the popular aftermarket accessory manufacturers made them "in the day", but that day for them is long gone.

I welcome the opportunity to drive a newly aquired vintage vehicle a long distance home. Best way to get aquanted with it.
To date my longest trip was from Cedar City Utah to Denver North Carolina in a 64 Dodge D200 crewcab pickup I bought sight unseen off Ebay. 2200 miles and I had to buy a battery in Colorado.

Nothing like a good ole adventure on the road.

Speaking of long trips in old cars, recently not back then.

I purchased my first 69 Polara with 4 pictures and a 5 minute phone call.
After flying from Santa Barbara CA to Butte MT I made my way home. The first 250 miles or so the road was covered in snow with a single lane clear and at times all covered. My plan was to take I-15 into SoCal but the further south I went the worse the snow was getting. I almost called it a night in Idaho Falls but was afraid I'd be trapped in the morning so I continued. Pocatello was the first chance i had to turn west with hopes that I'd get away from the mountains and have better weather, it worked.
That drive was 1400 miles 8 hours one day 12 the next.

My longest trim in a vintage car was a road trip in 2009 with my 67 Barracuda.
That trip took me up the California/Oregon coast into Portland returning south through Bend and Crater Lake.

Mount Hood in the background. That trip was a total of about 2200 miles.

In June I may be taking the Polara to Astoria (2000 mile round trip). Even though the gas mileage isn't that great it is still cheaper than a rental car.

I only have old cars and will drive any distance for the right car (for the right price)
