I usually let it be known when I want something.....

Well, I'm waiting for the seller's reply to the email I sent him. I wouldn't doubt he's reading this thread.

Sounds like a plan, Henry. Thanks.
Competing with someone from the Netherlands.
I wouldn't be surprised if superB sold me out to someone over there.

Hey, this looks just like my car! Just different color.
The sentimentality for me in this one is 75% of my needing the original blue paint.

I once had a 67 Newport 383 with the three on the tree ,AM radio delete. heater only, no other options. The CE was the barest of the bare. Fast though with the 440HP! I cry to this day, not buying a 68' back in 1975. New Yorker, two door hardtop,440HP, FOUR SPEED, DANA, buckets, console, tach, disc brakes, original owner. Green,green.green. I thought it was dogey in third, until I looked at the speedometer, crap! 110 plus. Those big chrslers sure ride good! $800.00
bucks. I made that in two months, just as well been 8,000.

I can understand that. I once owned a 67' that very same color, only a four door. a beautiful car. Two punks one night tried to steal it from the front of my house. They didn't understand there was no key in the steering column. They thought they could put in neutral and roll it away. It started rolling in reverse, they couldn't stop it. The car ran over one of the creeps foot! They ran off, and the car settled in the intersection down the street. The police came knocking on my door at 3:00 A.M, wanting to know if I could move my car! I walked down in my pajama's, started the car and drove it back home. That Idiot showed up at the ER wanting his foot looked at. He got 6 months in Jail for that. Not long enough in my opinion. Just a funny story from a really old mopar guy.

Ok, the auction is over and the whole story can be told.
I was first, last, and high bidder until early this afternoon.
I commuticated with the seller and he was being a stand-up guy.
He even gave me a screen grab off his computer to show me I was going head to head with a guy from The Netherlands and not being shilled. How many sellers would do that for you?
I really had no hard limit set in concrete for me on the car. I rechecked the listing this evening and saw that BIN was added and immediately snapped up.
Looks like The Dutchman was determined. Had I seen the $2k BIN first, it would be coming to Florida instead of The New Jersey Port Authority.
Your support was appreciated guys. Thanks.

I'm baffled. Why would he end the auction with two interested bidders? That makes no sense.

I know. Seems to me one would sit back and watch two guys go at it.
Maybe he added the BIN for me and I blinked....
Im guessing he decided cash talks, bullshit walks.

yeah, that is strange.

Stan, it depends on how bad you want it..........that is what pushed me to not hesitate on the Polara and finally buy the GP........I knew it wouldn't be long before someone else wanted the car(s), esp the GP, and decided to move forward instead of waiting a bit too long and kicking myself immediately after I had seen that the cars were sold. I am 100% positive that GP would not have made it until the end of the auction and fairly certain the Polara would have ended up overseas.

Mark, maybe that's why I drove a truck all my life and never went on to be an Aeronautical Engineer.

Well the saying, "you snooze, you lose" has gotten quite literal in the classic car business. And I doubt SuperB sold you out, he lives in Finland!

I need to breathe all this stuff in so perhaps it will remind me of what I went through the next time I decide to up and sell one of my cars. The right car is far to hard to come by nowadays.

There is nothing wrong with driving truck, drivers feed and clothe us!

I still don't get it. Bullshit walks but it wasn't about that. You never revealed your high number, right? You were obviously gonna pay cash so what's the problem?
