That’s exactly what I have a problem with.
So where do you get the slides?
...or can you?
I like the 3 D printing idea.
How do they come out? So are the broken pieces usually in the slide or fall into the dash?
Mine broke it his last November.
Can’t find any loose pieces!

The non-A/C Furys in '68 used the same plastic sliders for both the temperature and to change from heat to defrost and have the same problem.

As I recall, the non A/C '67 Furys used a similar set up that did not use the plastic sliders and had the temperature control knob come out and move across in an arc pattern vs. a straight across pattern. I don't know if the '67 A/C cars used this better type of set up. If yes, that might be an option.
