Weren't drums standard? From
Hot Rod Newsletter, I don't see discs as part of the package:
"The Code A52 Sport Fury GT package cost $3,898 and included concealed headlamps, E85 440 (350hp at 4,400 rpm, 480 lbs/ft at 2,800 rpm, 9.7:1 compression, Holley 4-bbl) with dual snorkel air cleaner, dual exhaust system with chrome splitter tips, H7Oxl5 rwl Polyglas tires, 16 slot road wheels, 3.23:1 axle ratio, TorqueFlite automatic, heavy-duty suspension with .98-inch torsion bars, shocks, and front sway bar, body side reflective (“Picket Fence”) and hood tape treatments in black, white, or orange, and bench seat interior, with buckets being $100.25 extra. The most noteworthy option was the 440 6-bbl for $153.45. Less than 100 Sport Fury GTs were so equipped and they are extremely rare finds today.:
The following vintage road test, posted on
Curbside Classic, expresses puzzlement (see the end of p.41) at the fact that power brakes were not even standard on the GT.
