Bad News

There are a few B body guys here and more are showing up, and there may continue to be more in the future. I think there are more Mopar guys (lifelong Mopar guys anyway) that appreciate C bodies like you, Matt, Red, Mike, Will, Stan, Bob, Ross, etc have than you know. I know I love all Mopars and appreciate the C bodies along with the rest of them.

Since I was 15 I have heard all the barge jokes there are. The fact that C's have little value and minimal reproduction market shows there is minimal care for a C body

When I drove my C bodies I got compliments on them at the same pace as I did for my Road runners. The problem I think is that there are fewer Mopar guys restoring our cars in general than the other makes .. don't forget it took quite a while before A and B bodies got much love from the repro guys. It took the speculators to kick off the parts industry for A and B bodies and even the E bodies were way lacking before that. There will probably never be the repro market for C body stuff that there is for Impalas, but what about late 60's and later Bonnevilles? How much stuff is there for them, or later Olds, Pontiac etc large cars? It's mainly the Impalas and large Fords right or am I wrong?

And no matter how many Camaros, Chevelles, Mustangs they made there will never be enough of them to satisfy demand of the sheep so many go for the affordable Impalas etc.

And another thing Dave, some of you guys have been able to snap up some pretty awesome cars for some pretty good prices .. that wouldn't be the case if they got as much love as you seem to want .. so consider yourself lucky actually.

Nope, you are correct I believe but I havent looked for too many repro parts for a Bonneville. BUT so many Chevelle guys and Camaro boys like and respect Impalas and Caprices and would like to own one. Many E, A and B body owners wont give a C body guy the time of day....In fact, they mock them, go get yourself a medium condition run of the mill C body, then preach to me

Another valid point ........but still no love

There is no doubt that the average person outside the hobby has an appreciation for our cars. Even non mopar guys in the hobby are very complimentary. The most disrespect I've seen has come from within the Mopar faternity. To qualify that statement I will say that then positive reactions still outweigh the negative even within mopar group. I stand with Dave on this issue.

I've heard all the same jokes now Dave, they aren't funny.

Not that big of a difference yet no one calls a RR or a GTX a Barge or a boat.

Actually, the aftermarket is fairly strong for the midsize and fullsize Pontiacs when I looked into it (I looked at both a '64 Catalina and a '72 Grand Prix)

just thought I'd throw that in there, I agree that the other Mopar guys are disrespectful of the C bodies as I can attest to this in person.

I heard B-Bodies called taxi cabs many times. During the late Sixties and early Seventies there was huge B-Body fleet of taxi's in the major cities in the U.S.

You guys are too worried about what everybody else thinks. So what if the other guys don't like your car.

I think the C-Body cars are coming around in popularity myself. Everything else has gotten out of hand for expense and the C-body is now the reasonably priced alternative. Then you've got the fact that there are row after row of B or E bodies and no one pays any attention to them. People will look for something different than what the next guy has.

No, we are not, simply trying to get a B body boy to recognize a situation

I'll admit the Rodney Dangerfield treatment did get tiresome but I actually got over it years ago. Just like to avoid getting jaded about where our cars are in the mopar pecking order. Just a reality check.
