Heres a stupid lil OCD question that I think I know the answer to but want confirmation on:

Battery tray should be body color. Yes, no?

just get yerself some yeller spray paint and give her a quick coat for right now. Ace has a lot of colors available...

I had an auto paint shop put body color in a spray can and had pretty good results. I don't think you'd want to paint a fender with it, but it should work well for a battery tray.

It's gotta be better than what the PO used on the fender .. appears to be some sort of self etching +/- "yellow" (ish) primer. The car is cream/gold .. I don't even want to talk about what he used to touch up the gold part.

Agree. I can likely get er close enough to hide well under the battery.

I took my paint code to the local parts store. Less than $20 they mixed it put it in a can and then handed me a pint with the left overs in it. Looks great. That was how I did my battery tray and some other body colored items.

I did that with my 68 Monaco .. Never seen a match quite as good... that car was a 25,000 mile car that was garaged it's whole life though .. this girl has been down in the TX sun and touched up with nail polish.

I thought my battery tray had some sort of rubberized coating on it... guess I'll have to look more closely at it when I pull the radiator support out in the next few days.

For paint, I've used Tower Paint a few times now with good luck:
APS Tower Paint Company, Spray Max, Aerosol Spray Paint, Custom Mixed Spray Paint

Got a couple cans of GG1 for my Fury a month or so ago, and it's a great match. I haven't sprayed any over the existing paint - which I know is not exactly right - but it's real close to the can of PPG I had mixed up.

Now I have to find a proper battery tray if mine is some sort of aftermarket thing...

Body color. I had a pint mixed when I detailed under my hood. Turned out great, especially for my lack of body work & painting skills.
