Bidder Beware!!!

With all those pictures and the very detailed video, I don't see how there could be any surprises left about the condition of the car?
I've never put that much work into describing a car that I'm selling, especially one that's selling for 5K or less.

It sounds odd to me, in the price range I expect eccentrics. if the car is good, I do the deal and leave. I suppose let's see where the next Buyer comes from.

Look at the sellers other auctions, if that's a picture of him then he just looks like an aging hippy. Just buy the thing and have it shipped to avoid creepy people. Regarding craigslist, I recently went to look at a car. Showed up at the house and no car anywhere (no driveway or garage either). Called to make the appointment less than an hour before, so I redial the guy again as I circled the block thinking I missed the house. "Oh, that car is gone", he says, "but I have another Chrysler around back, come and take a look." Riiiiiiight....

But did the car match the description in the ad???
They sounded quite fair about you in the listing.
Most times it reads Relisted Due To Scumbag Deadbeat Bidder...
So you found them creepy. So what.
Facts please...

Hi to everyone. I just saw this thread. I am the winning bidder on the vehicle. I PM'd the OP. If anyone has any further info let me know.
Thanks, Mike

Congratulations on your purchase. I'm sure all of us here will be interested in how the transaction goes.

I think he's currently blowing things up.
You're welcome to fill in.

He's also big enough to kick your *** so I'd be careful...

Update: Title of the car has "purchaser" information already filled in and it's not my Info. The seller is working on getting that matter cleared up. I really hope this comes together quickly. Nice car for the price and hate to have a fouled up title stop the deal.
Mike

I'm wondering if the name on the title was the earlier poster who wigged out when (s)he went to close the deal.

Almost every dmv will not accept a title with alterations, white out etc. My guess is you will have to file for a lost title, or get a duplicate to transfer.

Who's name is on the front of the title? Is it the seller's? Or is it someone else, and his name is on the back as "Purchaser"? If that's the case, sounds like he was trying to skip on the transfer and registration fees when he purchased it. That's not going to work, and he's going to need to pay the fees and transfer the title in his name before he can sell.

If it's the former case where he thought he had it sold and the transaction did not go through (like with the OP), he should be able to add a "Statement of Fact" stating the person's name listed on the back never completed the sale. He should sign it and get it notorized to play it safe. In Texas, that would suffice for them to "skip over" that person's name who was filled out on the back, and let you put it in your name.
