I was watching the original Walking Tall movie tonight. He sounds like he was a helluva guy.

The movie has several C body squad cars. I was googling him on commercial breaks, he liked big cars. Vette accident killed him.

I saw him on a late night talk show after he and his wife was shot not too long before he died. Very interesting guy. The movies (especially the last one) didn't do him justice.

The family turned his house into a museum. It has the Corvette and his Lincoln town coupe in the garage. It is just off Highway 22 in Tennessee. And yes he was one hell of a man.
