It started with an ad on FCBO, SOLD - 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst PARTING OUT!
for some parts for a 70 C body located in Minnesota. On Apr 17 2017, I sent off $800.00 in good faith to secure these parts for a future build. Never seemed to get a good day set up due to one thing or another. July arrives and I have 2 weeks off from work, so I let this individual know anytime works for me. Still no date set, and no parts, hmmm. I'm done with the waiting, so 21 July 2017 I ask for a refund, On 1 Aug 2017, I receive $400.00, half of my money back, wait, why only half? Seems he has bounced checks from other buyers, and I'm not fully refunded as of today. I'm now promised free parts along with the rest of my money, if only I'd be patient, well my patience is long gone on this deal, and feel I've been ripped off. I wanted to pass along my experience with this individual to the group, so at least you have fair warning in dealing with this guy.

That's bullshit!

Joey, what is your view on this guy selling parts on FCBO?

Well, it may be a moot point, Bob.
Seems like he boogied out of town a couple of months ago and I don't think he'll be revisiting us unless he's the stupidest con man alive.

His last visit was just this past Tuesday.

He's been playing middleman for parts he doesn't even own.

Wow sorry to hear that Ben...there are so many great guys here to do business with like yourself and the dozen or so others I have had the pleasure of doing some parts buying from. It's a small community and word will get out soon enough..

Good morning guys, as some of you know I went through some major medical stuff which set me back financially and put alot of my life on hold. I apologize to Ben and you guys for this delay in getting it resolved. I promise you and Ben that it will be done this week ( and yes im sending him a 70 top console to help make up for my shortcomings) all the best Robert

I just read this thread, and Robert's response. While I have not met him, I have found him to be easy to work with and responsive and very helpful. Maybe it was just timing in my case, but I would give him the benefit of the doubt and consider the situation he outlines.
I can be patient when medical issues are involved and his record is one of coming through, even if late due to circumstances. I will say he seems like he is well connected in the Mopar world and has a lot on his plate.
Steve

I remember reading the other threads where guy's were having trouble getting their parts from him. I hope he comes through for you barnfind.

yes, always just another day or two

Part of this might indirectly and innocently be partly my fault. I bought a 1971 Chrysler 300 from him in colors that I like (mostly original paint red body with white interior and white vinyl roof, is very straight and only minor rust). And he is putting a 1971 440HP engine in it as well for me and a HD trans in the trunk. It ships Oct 3 and it is being shipped by a guy that he knows and I have worked with as well. So he may be pretty busy getting things ready for me. Call him after Oct 3rd, and he will likely have more time. His wife is having him sand and paint some hardwood floors in the house, too. The shipper also has to pick up a 1960 Imperial that I have been trying to buy for several years and it is only 3 hours away, and both are coming together. The Imperial has to be gone by the first week in October - which has placed some pressure on him and the shipper to make it happen for me. So all I can say is he is really busy. And he still answers the phone. Not trying to make excuses for him as your agreement came before mine. I think he is just addressing the bigger stuff before the other stuff he has to do in order to maximize his income in these challenging times for so many people these days. I wasn't aware of your frustration before I made the deal with him, and the time pressures on me have kept me busy too making this all come together. I really believe he will come through for you soon. And he runs a dance studio as well, so all these things on his plate keeps him hopping - no pun intended.

I also have a transport guy that operates up and down the West coast for me occasionally, and he frustrates me greatly at times, but he always comes through for me and has the set up I need once in awhile that few others can provide for some of my unique transport considerations. So I continue to use him realizing he has a lot of priorities he has to meet as well. He is super nice and does some transports others would never do, so I put up with it, and just realize that in working with him, I just need to have a long window for coming through. But he never fails me. And he brings me huge organic heirloom tomatoes when his mom has some in her garden too. They are the best!

I am thinking Rusty is kind of like that. He is well connected in the Mopar world and has demonstrated he can come through with stuff that I would have never found otherwise and his prices are reasonable too.

The goal but with original road wheel centers instead...........................

There's no good excuse to not living up to expectations that you give people. Maybe if you tell people how long it'll really take in the first place you won't need to be featured in threads based on tales of negative feedback and deals gone bad. I'd steer clear of this guy personally, his track record speaks for itself.
