Hi guys,

I'll probably never own one but would love to. I do the next best thing and collect pics of cop cars. I thought it would be interesting to start a thread of C-Body only cop car pictures.

I'll start with Oklahoma Highway Patrol

I thought this one was interesting because the pic was taking the summer of 77 but Oklahoma State Police was still running at least one 73 Fury. This pic has a 73, 75 and probably a 77, non-c-body wagon. A couple others but I can't tell what they are.

73 Polara also Oklahoma.

Wagon looks to be a '77 Fury, B Body (also known as the small fury). Offered those with a 440 from '75 to '78 for police use.

You can tell this one is the restored car because the trooper has a modern uniform.

Interesting because it shows a 72 and 73 together. Both were one year only paint schemes.

Thanks for the postings. Interesting to see all of the different color combinations and graphics which were used by the different entities.

Within the CHP, up to 1960 was a black car with white doors.

In 1960 They added to "Highway Patrol" to the doors because of the 1960 Olympics and they wanted the nation to know it was the CHP they were seeing.

Starting is 1961 the roof was white.

In large the cars had the same scheme into the current cars.

I believe the paint scheme on the Pennsylvania State Police '73 Fury was nick named the Tijuana Taxi. The photo from the 3 Mile Island near nuclear disaster in March of '79 brought back memories. Thanks for posting the great pics.

Great posts! This was at the State Trooper display at the NYS Fair a few years ago. Saw this a few times in my rear view in young & stupid days.

Border Patrol rig, San Ysidro CA, 1979. Says "accident scene" .. but l looks like it may be an "enforecement action" going on.

Cool GF on duty though (nope, not mine :))
