Been to many silent auctions but never for cars. Once the bids closed the grandson gave everyone a chance to beat the high bid. Prices were low but more than I was willing to pay.

I like the double dark green 71 and the Y9 72. Too bad the 72 had no skirts...hopefully they're in the trunk.

How much did the '71 Imperial go for?, was it rusty?

I am pretty sure the '71 Imperial went for $2200, it did have some rust through on the lower quarters and rockers. The '72 was quite a bit nicer and went to $3400. The '69 seemed to be the roughest and was the hardest to inspect. It went to $2800 as mentioned. The buddy I went with bid it up to $2600. One guy bought all three cars. Check out the interior in the '72....pretty sweet.

I spent the most time looking at the '61 Saratoga as it had a $3000 start price and was not getting bid very high at first. It was a really nice sheetmetal car and very original throughout. Anyway it did gather attention and got bid to $11k as the silent bid ended. When he asked if anyone wanted to pay more for it...it sold for $14,600.

I did mess up as there was a '72 Newport 4 door sedan with a 400 2bbl engine. It had a starting bid of $1500 so I didn't pay too much attention to it. Plus it really was tough to see. Anyway a couple people wrote in bids and they ended up taking the $700 high bid. I should have seen if $800 would have bought it. I wish I had taken a better look at it so I would have been able to react better.

The '59 Dodge Custom Royale also was a nice sheetmetal car. A couple of guys from Sweden bought it for $7500. They happened to be in Toronto buying other cars and drove up to the auction.

$7,500 seems like a bargain for that '59.
The 59 has one digit wrong in the VIN at the DMV. Seller tried to get it fixed prior to Auction but DMV wasn't interested. Buyer's noticed the discrepancy and were concerned they'd have trouble shipping it as the VIN doesn't match the registration.
