Can you guys give me an idea as to what this is worth?

A Maverick is still a Maverick... No matter how you try and dress it up... like they say you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig, They were junk in the 70s...And they're junk today. IMHO

My sister had a Maverick as her first car. The body would squeak when it roll down the road. Anyone who has been around one knows exactly what I am talking about. I always knew it was her pulling in the driveway, and it wasn't the sound of the engine.

I've had no problems with my Maverick. It's even good in the snow, but it lacks ground clearance, which sucks when snow plows go past my house and send all the snow from the road into the end of my driveway.

How about a 440/727 Maverick?

Put a 302 in it and make it a Grabber

At some point, it'll get a fuel injected H.O. 302, T5 transmission, and an Explorer rear end (31 spline, 3.73 gears, and the slightly wider track width I need to run 235s in the rear on stock wheels without rubbing the springs, all from the factory).

I, too, like Mavericks. They can be made into pretty fun cars, especially the way you've described the desires for yours.

In high school, I used to bum around in a girlfriend's Maverick. You couldn't kill the thing. Fixed up like the pic in Tallhair's would be nice.

I had my own shop back in the late seventies...worked on loads of them for that and other issues... they were great for business!

My sister always sounded like that from day one (used car). Was the squeaking coming from the factory bushings in the front suspension? Did Ford use something "special " on the Maverick, I remembered it wasn't just my sisters car. Just curious after all these years.

I'm thinking it's a 2000 or 2250 value car.....if it was detailed and really clean, possibly more. BTW, those are real Leather Seats.......and nobody in the USA wore a monocal or held a pinky up in the air? These cars were driven by Bankers and Lawyers and Doctors in their 50's or 60's. Maybe in Britain 100 years ago.

Yeah the a frame bushings were crap right from the factory! I had them right on the shelf lol...

Well folks, I decided a while back that if the right offer doesn't come my way for this thing by the end of the month, I'm keeping the car and it'll undergo a few key mods to make it the best winter rig it can possibly be. Looks like that might end up happening :eek:s_dancing2:
