any of you guys use one of these and how’d it work out for you? Figure it would be a cheap easy way to keep an eye on things. Junk or no ?

I just picked this brand at random.

I have one in all my cars. A great way to keep an eye on battery and charging operation. Also shows charging current being consumed by your phone, once you connect it. For that $12 price, it should be better quality. The cheap ones I use are about $6-$7, and they're still fine. Order a handful, you'll be giving them away to your friends and family.

I have one for each old car and for both pick ups. They work great. I used mine in the Swinger a hour ago.

They read voltage then turn to amperage draw when you plug your phone in.

One thing to note, of course they are measuring voltage where they are plugged in... So if it reads lower than you expect it's possible it's voltage drop across old wires and nasty connections and not a bad alt or regulator.

The lighter is also a perfect place to monitor voltage since it isn’t a switched voltage source and is constantly hot. Has easily and quickly let me know many times when my battery is dead, or to turn off my accessories before my battery dies.

I used mine today and got 14.1 V (Revving Eng.) and 12.9 V at Idle.I noticed Amp gauge was charging high while driving.Bat.tested good,Charging system tested low. Any thoughts ?

Stock, these systems didn't keep up well at idle if you've got the lights on, ac, wipers, etc. I've had many that showed discharge at idle with lights and blower motor on for example. Your voltage numbers look fine to me and the drop at idle isn't a concern.

I have the older version of this with an analog voltmeter, and no USB charger of course. My uncle always had one in his RV, so when I saw one at a swapmeet I had to grab it. Very handy but unfortunately the contacts don't work with the "accessory" plug in our CR-V, so I was thinking of picking up one of these newer style ones.

My cigar days are over, so I can't test that, but I think I could probably light one.

Anker is a decent brand & I have several cars with the FM transmitter adapters that also have a voltage meter feature and they seem to work well. I think a quick glance at the voltage can be reassuring and also may help in some quick troubleshooting in a pinch!

I just sent back a cigar lighter voltmeter that didn't work at all. Not sure why. It was an Ainope from Amazon. Sturdy, heavy metal, cute, but didn't light up.
Anybody know one that works in a slab Fury?
