classic car collection exported to china

None of us "own" the cars, we are caretakers and can only hope they will be around after we have gone to the garage in our minds.

It appears that these cars have been lavished upon lovingly, huge amounts of money spent on their care and maintenance. The fellow made some good points for letting the collection go. And it sounds like he had made attempts to offer the collection to be enjoyed by the public, with no takers. Plus, he did not appear to be a spring chicken with great health.

The Chinese DO have an appreciation for American culture, Their way of demonstrating that is to mimic us instead of showing respect, something they don't understand. They have little respect for themselves, how can they respect others.

I hate to see the collection go there, But it's a changing world economy now...... There's always a chance all or some of it will find it's way back. You can bet that there will be serious collectors keeping a finger on the pulse of that collection.
