Conrod bearing shells

Good day,
I'm replacing my Conrod bearing shells but have noticed that they no longer have the notch cut for the oil to squirt up to the underside of the piston....is this correct?
The bearing shells are Clevite. Does one need to machine in the small V cutout?

Yes they quit making the notches for years. They found it unnecessary

FYI The notches are for location. The holes were for oil. Con rod cap oil holes...
