Control Arm Bushings

I'm not really good at doing the whole paraphrase thing, so I will just say- I don't think it's my bent stub frame, that shouldn't matter. ??? WTF? That matters guy! That is the base. It must be right in order for other things to be right.
I get that it doesn't help, I just meant that when I go over a crack/bump in the road, it doesn't feel any different than before I replaced every bushing on the car. It still has a feeling like the shock isn't being absorbed. Shocks work fine, the car doesn't keep bouncing or anything, just thought the road feel would be a bit smoother, if that makes sense.

I have been very discouraged from them. The ball joint/tie rod boots only last about a year before cracking and falling apart. Nothing is made any good anymore. They sure aren't gonna last for 30 years like some of the originals.
Holy Crap ! you are from Germany ! I would be pissed !!

I'm not as pissed as the owner of the car. He is really not happy with the situation. I'm just sad for him and I'm learning a lot what to do and where to order parts for my car when its time...

Especially because I'm that far away and every complain is a pain in the neck...

Those are crumbling right before your eyes. I can hear it crunching from here.

It's not that they are crumbling, they are just faulty... I see it just like you all do but there was a slight chance that you guys say it's normal, like from surface tension or something like that. I just wanted to give it a try because of the annoyance with another complain.

Considering the length you are going with your resto, if you don’t find new bushings to the Fuselage Imp, you might just try custom made bushings. There are a few small companies here in Finland which do that. I’m sure you would be able to find a shop with the required knowledge quite near to you in Germany.

Well I get what you're saying but that doesn't really make sense. You would think after all of that you would notice some difference. I'll assume the frame isn't too bent? And an alignment was done, which should make up for it? Could it be that you are used to more modern cars?

Frame isn't too bent, but it is tweaked. Had an alignment. I'm sure I'm used to modern cars, but I'm not expecting that feel out if this old a car. I guess I'll see when I take it apart what shape everything is in, if it's reusable. Sure hope so after a few years and not a lot of miles.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you, hope all goes well!

I do! I've been through the rebuild of the suspension, and taken may parts car down to the stub (bolts already loose!). Should be a fairly straightforward deal next spring to swap stubs and build the front end back up. More learning! I like the fact I've done everything to this car myself, and I love getting to know my car!

Just a little update: PST responded and told my friend the parts were NOS and because of that, they were shot...
He was told the parts were the last they had and now they have to order new ones... What may take a while. :BangHead:

Besides of all the trouble we had with complaints, multiple international shipping, customs and so on, I think PST should have never sold them, nor ship them without inspection. Especially NOS parts that were on the shelves for a long time. And in our case, especially as an internations customer, where an exchange is much more difficult and time consuming.

I'm really not happy with that customer treatment. :(

An NOS pitman arm might be fine. Anything NOS with rubber in it from 40 years ago like a bushing, door weatherstrip, or motor mount is never fine.
