Besides the plastic insert it on the door/window seam cup holder or the over the txsm hump mini console, what kind of innovative cup holders are being used in the C-Body world. I have delegated the holding beverages task to my wife's steady hand. The problem is that she's not always with me when I'm driving the NYB.

I'm going to have to recover the door panels and try to modify it and fabricate a cup holder in them.

You must have bucket seats with the center console. In my bench seat Newport, I use a cheap plastic console that sits on the hump.

Actually, the factory gave you cup-holders. Those are the round depressions in the glovebox door back-side. You can sit two coffee cups with the door down. I am guessing those were for when parked, or else there were a lot of spills. I don't recall factory cup-holders in any U.S. cars until the mid-80's. That was an innovation demanded by minivan buyers.

I used the hump style for many years and it worked well. The best ones had sandbags for ears and they really kept it still. I have also used the in door/window slot holders. Fine as long as your drink is low and close to the hinge. Ask me how I know this...

A friend of mine had a Taurus with a bench seat that converted to a console for holding drinks/change. It seems like it would be easy to build a small console that sat on the bench to hold that stuff. It could maybe attach via the middle seatbelt? and could be taken out when not needed.

I have the factory center console which, while looking real cool, forces me to use those stupid door/window slot holders. :(

Google "slide out cup holders" in images and you may find a tasteful hidden way of accomplishing this task. The images will link to the manufacturer.

I have seen late model side or pop out cup holders used in hot rods. I think there's one in the rear seat of a Dodge mini van that would work.

I use my hand.

I do have a holder on the hump, but it's nowhere deep enough to hold a cup in even the slightest turn.

I asked Paul for a cup holder and he blew me away with this hide-a-way solution. I believe they are GM from around 1980. Work perfectly.
