The mileage is 43,635. The previous owner tells me that mileage is accurate. Which by looking the car over i am sure it is. This car would take a lot to restore it. It's a great parts car no dought but the money it would take to get it perfect would be a lot. Here is the problem and we all know it, these cars, we find them when they are in decent shape and you stop and ask are they for sale and you get the same answer, we are going to restore them. Everybody is going to restore them. You know how much money that takes? A lot. Theses cars sit so long that by the time there owners decide they are not going to restore it there either rotted in the ground or they are so far gone they need a full resto. I know where there are a lot of chryslers sitting here and they are the same cars i have stopped on for the last 18 years.

At least it looks like it was stored indoors all those 26 years. Are you really certain the motor won't turn? I think it should be restored, as it doesn't look that bad to my eyes. Seems like most of the rust is confined to the rear quarters (plus you say there is scale on the subframe). Is there much rust around the back widow? Those dashpads oozed a fair amount of goo over the years if it wasn't cleaned up regularly, but they rarely split either and will clean up. Would you consider selling the whole car? Is the chrome on the grille and bumpers pitted, as it would seem they would be since the car is from New York, even if it was stored indoors (it doesn't look as bad as I would expect from the photos being located where it was)? The 69s looked the best to me from 69-71, although all were nice in those years.

In addition to what Dano says about delusional sellers is all the tire kickers who whine and complain about cars not being restored yet when it comes time to put money where mouth is very few step forward. Although I've saved a few old rides honestly I'm in that 2nd category more than I care to admit. We should just be happy that Dano snagged it so that at least parts will go to keep another one alive.

You should throw a number out for this car. Get some pics of what's going on with the frame and floor boards. Give it a chance to live. I bet it sells in a week.

I know you guys won't like to hear this, but there's more money in parting the car out than selling it complete.

Let's face it, the market for this car, as it is for restoration, is pretty small. The cost in time and money is going to be great and it's gonna be cheaper to buy one that doesn't need restoration.

Have you tried to part out a car like this, with such a small market? It won't bring much and the ones out there now are pretty complete as they are. I know a guy that has tried to part out one of these models and it has been a waste of effort.

Depending how much it was bought for he might be better to just flip it to a new home. Parting a car in the winter aint much fun.

Give it a very thorough cleaning inside and out and look at it again. It sometimes changes perspectives and plans. AMHIK

I agree with Klaus, the car is too rare to not at least see if there's any interest in saving it. Clean it up inside and out, take some good pics of all the trouble spots and post them up.

hi dano. looking for 66 fury wagon parts. mostly interior plastic trim and anything else for wagon. thanks. paul

I am actually looking at a c body up there and thinking about getting it depending how hard it is to get it through customs.

I have been reading your guys feed back. I have had a lot of cars and seen a lot come and go. If your looking for a good rebuildable car this is a good candidate. It's all there. Now, that being said. The car has two "bad spots". Both rear quarters need attention but in my opinion there not that bad. My best friend owns a body shop so i see how things are repaired and i know how much body repairs cost. The one rear quarter has a hole the size of a tennis ball and its only the outside skin. A patch would fix that. The other is along the bottom of the panel. It's just the bottom edge that has rusted. The trunk has a light scale under the carpet but it is all hard, no holes. The same goes for the trunk extensions. They are hard and intacked. The paint as a whole is faded and cracked. That being said i bought the car to part because i have no interest in restoring it. I have two gentleman messaging me who want it. I haven't put a price on it. I am open to offers but its going to have to be a good one because I can make a lot parting it out. I am open to all offers. Thanks Guys and have a happy new year.

Honestly, if that Imp weren't so far away, I'd like to own it. Best of luck with a sale! I hope that ends up staying intact and with a new, happy owner. Definitely too nice to part, but that's me!

That's why I am listening to offers. I think its a nice car as a whole. Especially for a new york car. You never find them like this. Time will tell I guess.

We are working on getting this ole girl sold. To a member in Germany. I pulled the tires off it this morning and there at a tire shop getting replaced so they will hold air for transport.
