Dash and accessory lights

Hello Im taking apart dash and replacing lights trying to get factory look without under the dash guages and I have 3 dashights thst brighten and dim and they have power and new bulbs but won't come on any advice?

When TESTING the socket, use a wire with alligator clips on each end. One end should be clamped onto a well grounded surface, like the steering column, and the other onto the little metal tabs in the socket. Then, you need to install them back into your panel, and ground the panel the same way; clamp your gator clip onto the panel, with the other end grounded. Also, if any of your new bulbs are LEDs, the POLARITY MATTERS in many cases! I like LEDs in the instrument panel, but not all LEDs are equally well suited for that.
