Has anyone ever found a Data Plate to be inaccurate? I have a number of ‘64 Imperials and just bought another one which shows codes different than any others with the same exact options present. I can’t make any sense out of it.

Humans made tags and humans make errors so, yes, tags can have errors.
Coding changes year to year, plant to plant and even within the model year so what was coded on the tag 'early' in the year may not have been coded 'late' the same year at the same plant.
Can you post pictures so we can make comparisons?
