Detecting a Lean Burn conversion

I went through 3 of the beloved ECU's on my dart before it was traded in on an MSD lol so forgive my bias.

The cast ready to runs are $72
the pro billets are $188
before the FCBO break.

or if you want an actual MSD, i carry those to, along with about 250 other performance brands.

I never had that bad of luck with Mopar ECU but..... I have seen their issues, LOL
I am looking at your pro billet for my Barracuda but I need to get the paint squirted on it first.

Yep, mostly a bodies on the driver fender apron, bad grounds there when the ecu is bolted to nothing but rot, or it falls through shuts the car off then shorts the wires and ecu because it violently bounced around in the wheel well.
The Cordoba mentioned had a hot start problem that I almost traded the car on a at the time 2 year old 83 Mustang, till the damn thing would not hot start for trade in estimate. Old guy smoking one cigarette after another that worked in parts tells me it's your pick up coil and you need brass feeler to set it. There is your old guy internet mentioned before. Poor salesman lost a sale over that and I did not end up with a stupid 2bbl Mustang.

... the mopar oe ignition is not known for it's reliability... Thats not a jab at your car, or my car, or anyone elses car... It's a statement of fact from my experiences with it, and what the world has pretty much come to known...
My vehicles include a 10 second dart

I've only experienced 1 ballast resistor fail since 1985-86, 1 bad VR pickup in a dizzy, never replaced a faulty ECU, have successfully used some aftermarket ECUs when converting from points, and have never seen any of them melt. But you've seen a few, so it's "a statement of fact" and "what the world knows to be true"? I'm not wanting to sound like a dick, but your logic is off there. I may be only 1 guy, so not a big sample size, but I've had 10+ cars that I've driven a lot over the last 20 years, so if things were so awful you'd think I would've experienced this widespread trouble. Maybe it's a YMMV thing, but I'd say the factory ign doesn't fall into junk status. (And as far as a 10-sec car, that's no place to be using factory-style ign stuff, that's a boy trying to do a man's job. )

But what I really came back to say:
You did a good job coming back showing the replacement parts and helping folks know what's involved and the cost. That's helpful salesmanship, and corrects most of my original objection. Although, this dizzy would be better if it used OEM-style plug wires and the OEM cap (but I know that's not your design). And you said the parts are on shelf by 1000s, but I see that both the ign module and cap are on your site as special-order?

"Special order" on my site just means it needs transferred over from my supply warehouse opposed to my retail location. Takes 24hrs. In the interest of professionalism I will just leave the rest of this alone. have a Good day sir.

Lol I have only been on the "winning side" of the ol' trade in game. Luckily! I have gathered that you take your finicky cars to the dealer on the nastiest, rainy, snowy, coldest day of the year....salesmen dont even wanna look at them lol. Full blue book ;)

Dealer came back at thousands over blue book w/o even driving the thing, and hardly looking at it (sleeting outside)....Ummm yeah...It's yours...lol...guess i'm leaving with a new ram.
