Did some Fury TLC today

Fresh set of plugs and we are ready to roll. The old ones were some funky oil burner plugs with a cage over the end.

You mean these stupid things?

Different implementation than shown in the video, but same concept I think. (I'll get you guys a picture eventually.)

I went out to Mentor Saturday without a problem and then went to start it up yesterday and it proceeded to leak coolant everywhere, so I'll be replacing a water pump today. I also ordered up my temperature sending unit so I'll have 2/3 gauges.

It would have went smoother had we not A. forgotten to put the power steering pump bracket back on before bolting down the pump B. put the shroud on upside down.

I'm thinking I'll just use this thread for a place to mark down stuff as I fix it.

Radio - Got one of the original radios working. Found a bunch of wires shoved up under the dash that look like someone was using a tape player or something in the car. Front speaker was blown. I replaced it. Rear speakers were unwired. I rewired them. So far I've found a dozen talk radio stations and radio Disney, not optimal, but good enough. While I was in there, I replaced my rightmost dash light since it was out.

Carburetor - Since it will be cold soon I finally got around to installing a high idle cam. (I think that is what it's called? It's what the high idle screw sits on.) So now it goes through its idle steps nicely. Overall the choke still comes off too quick, but I'm debating whether to try and actually fix that or just unplug the electric heater and forget about until it's warm again.

Timing - I grabbed the timing light and it was at about a degree BTDC to right on TDC. I advanced it on the lowest idle until it was just below where I could still see the timing mark before it disappeared behind the water pump. It idles way better and seems to have a bit more power all the way up. I haven't yet had it on the highway, but so far I haven't heard any knocking.

Still lots to do, but those needed done before the cold really kicks in. I get my license Wednesday.

Pretty sharp for 18!!!

Good job........so far!

Happy Birthday!!!

Now that I think of it, I may have only mentioned the age detail in Nick's build thread.

Bob seems to have a penchant for plastic if you catch my drift.

Maybe every youth today isn't really destined to be a Walmart People.
I get to see the public education system at work five days a week. I wouldn't hold your breath Stan.
