Dimmer switch not working

So my interior lights used to dim all the way to off, now they only go halfway before the switch gets stuck. Anyone else experience this?

The rheostat part of the switch is a simple wound-wire with a moveable contact to dim/brighten the lights. Is it getting stuck past a certain part of the travel, not making the full sweep of the knob?

Yes it used to do it only once in awhile now it just won’t turn past a certain point

The headlight switch (at least the rheostat portion) can be removed and cleaned/lubed.
