From September of ‘68. This came with my ‘68 Coronet R/T in a folder from the previous owner and since I’ve been going through these things lately I took a closer look at it. It’s kool enough and rather rare I think so I wanted to share a bit of it.

Agree, they are cool mags and reading them tends to take you "back in time" to that era. I have been collecting them for quite a number of years now, I have every issue from Jan 1957 thru Sept 1972. (Plus a bunch of doubles).

My parents used to get these. There were Chry/Ply and Dodge versions. One was called "The Spectator", the other was called Adventurer (???)

I had a copy of this magazine but gave to a friend that had just acquired a CHP 68 Polara.

Women were first allowed in the CHP in 1974 as part of a pilot program called WTOP (Women Traffic Officer Project).
Six years later in 1980 the CHP saw it's first women motor officer.

No standards were lowered, no split requirements, in 1974 that first year 5 of the top 8 graduates were women.

I've been collecting these as well. Dodge News Magazine started in 1934 and went to August of 1972. In the 30's the circulation was 100,000/month by the end it was 1,000,000 copies monthly. It was mailed free by the dealerships to customers . Neat magazines...have adds that you will never see any where else. The hardest ones to find appear to be the war years. Best way to buy them is in bulk on ebay. Singles can get expensive -$10 or $20 a copy. The 30's issues are news print and are pretty fragile. I still have a long way to go to complete my collection lol....have the first and the last and a couple of hundred in between.

Plymouth owners had the "Plymouth Traveler" First issue was 59 or 60. The mid sixtys issues are small format 6 by 9 inches by 69 or 70 they were the same size as the Dodge News Magazine...8 x 10 inches. The smaller ones are not as nice as the Dodge versions...cheaper paper and smaller pictures. The one 1970 issue I have is October....The new car issue...It's nice...lots of pictures and adds.

Desoto Owners received "People and Places" First issue is October 1 1939...don't know when it ended the latest issue I have is June 1954.

Chrysler Owners were mailed "Chrysler Events" .First issue was Jan 1950 I think. Newest Issue I have is April 55.
I have one copy of "Chrysler Photo-Gram"...Sept 1941 Vol 3 No 11. This was probably the predecessor to the Events Mag.

Yes, the Dodge Adventurer seems to have replaced the Dodge News Magazine in September of 1972. Same format and seems to be the same magazine as before, I think it was just re-named for some reason. I have a few issues of those as well.

I thought I had a couple issues of the Plymouth magazine too, but I can't find them, and for the life of me can't remember now what that mag was called. Maybe it was the Spectator, although that doesn't ring a bell with me.

I’ve got a short stack of the Spectator mags that my dad held onto from his days at Chrysler Financial.

There is something about the mid-century aesthetic and it's momentary return to figurative art that turns my crank. Thanks for sharing.

I think about every western manufacturer had some publication like this.
Even rarer were the inhouse publications for factory employees. I know a few from German manufacturers meant to bond the workers together with cultural offerings, anniversaries for Long time employees, Information directed to apprentices for education within the different professions from the factory.
Was there anything like this available from the different Mopar brands ?

Unfortunately, now that all of this has gone digital, it evaporates like a puddle in the AZ desert.
