My 73 Newport was bought at Don Robertson Chrysler located in Brampton. For some reason there is no dealership tag. I found one on E Bay, but I think it's a later one ? I posted a few pictures, the first ones I believe would be correct and the last one being a later version. Thanks

There are a couple of groups on Facebook that collect dealer license plate frames and assorted dealer advertising materials. Might be worth a search there. Just be careful buying on FB, but common sense goes a long way.

The first picture is of a '69 apparently and the second is a '72, so I'd say that would be the correct one for your '72. That style has two posts which require two holes drilled through the trunklid and are held on with barrel clips. Your car could have been ordered and the owner requested the dealership not install the emblem, or they were busy and it was missed.

If you have some time to kill and are in the area, it's worth checking out some antique stores and flea markets. You never know what you'll find! (Mostly junk.) But some good stuff too.

I cheaked the inside of the deck lid and I don't see any evidence that there was ever a emblem. The Car is very original including paint. From what I can tell, the car was a lease and remained in the dealerships name till 1984. I located where the first picture was taken and sent a email asking If it's available, I'm waiting for a reply.

I should have added that some dealership's would have scrimped on the barrel clips and used speed nuts. To use those with that type of emblem requires a flat surface. I could be wrong, but looking at the placement of those two emblems, I'd say they land in hollow territory, meaning barrel clips would have been used. Which also means you wouldn't see evidence from the inside.

However, you mention original paint? That's great! If so, do you really want to drill two hole's?

If you don't want to drill holes in the trunk, just cut the studs off and apply with 3M emblem tape adhesive trimmed to fit with an X-acto

I really like the originality of this car, it like a time warp. I'd like to get the emblem and then decide whether to install it or not. So many of these where removed when a car got a repaint. For what ever reason this car never received a emblem. From what I can tell the car was a lease for Northern Tellecom, maybe that's why?
