Hi Everyone,
I need to replace the drivers door lock mechanism. No longer kicks door lock open if you lock door and close, won't latch all the way most times, sometimes the handle won't open it from outside the car. It's a mess in other words, yes its greased, cleaned up, etc.
My question is the long link arm from the inside handle to the lock. It doesn't seem to have a clip to disconnect it. Appears and feels like its permanently riveted on.
Kind of ridiculous, but it seems that's the case. Clips for everything else. All the replacement locks I've seen on line don't have the link attached. So am I missing something obvious ? What's the trick to disconnect that link ? The car is a 60 Plymouth Suburban.
Thanks, a simple job of greasing the regulator, locks blew up into a giant and aggravating project ! But I love the car....so i forgive it...
