Driveway is Done

how does it hold up to harsh winters

The town I lived in up in Massachusetts long time ago put the bricks in the sidewalks to create a trendy shopping zone... within a few years of the freeze cycling the sidewalk plows tore it all up but no one would own up to that stoopidness. Colonial Boston, there is a reason why they got rid of cobblestones and went to concrete. duh

EVERYTHING down here is concrete.
Slab, driveways, wall construction
borders. etc. you name it.
Miles of concrete and stucco.

Nice driveway. Hopefully it is an easy fix and the contractor stands up for his work. With a good base your driveway should last decades.

That is a sexy driveway!! Never really thought about brick, how does it hold up to harsh winters? And what are all the joints sealed with there, don't they usually just use a very fine sand?

Yes fine sand.
No problems with harsh winters , there,s a different between the street-bricks and house build bricks …….!

Made me think of the Meadowbrook estate. Brick paver driveways aren’t uncommon around here where the roads get ate up by the freeze thaw action.
