Dielectric grease is NONCONDUCTIVE. It does NOT improve connectivity. If it did you wouldn't want to use it in places like the bulkhead connector as it would cause short circuits between connector pins.
I believe I used the grease to displace the oxygen that will be present in the bulkhead connector after cleanup,
(it may have been silicone grease)
I do this also for the battery terminal connections.
Apologies, I believe the bulkhead connector recieved a different type of grease using a pick & Q-tip to insert small amounts of the grease. I don't remember what type.
I'll have to look again.
EDIT: it was silicone grease.
