Engine Swap question

Its just a matter of finding the right motor mounts and changing the radiator, if its already got a 727 box in it you can use the same drive shaft, but you will need to get a big block 727 box for the 440, the motorhome box might have a different extension housing on the rear? Oh and change the primary pipes on the exhaust system. It has power assisted disks on the front? Its all I can think of right now.

I picked up a 75 440 for $300. The engine is clean and has a documented 56k on it. I'll be on the lookout for a trans. I'm pretty sure mildon makes an oil pan for the swap, I'll be putting the FAST TB on it. Not sure what to do about exhaust. Headers? The manifolds that came on the engine are from a truck so they prob wont work. And no, manual drums but I'll be converting them to power disc. Do you have any idea what years/models the BB 727 came in? It's easier to search by vehicle. Thx!

Pick any car you like and say its got a 440 in it and the gearbox out of it will work in your car. Regarding disk brakes and power booster go for 1969 to 1973 as these will be easy to come across cheap and will be easy to buy replacement parts for, if you have the chance go for the 73 setup as its the best option of them all.

Score Maximus .. I have some BB 727's if you need a core and are reasonably close to Southern Illinois .. shoot me a PM if you are

Here's something you may want to consider as far as fuel injection goes,if you decide to keep your original engine. It runs about the same price as the Fast system but is a much simpler install .
How is the install simpler?

Wow. That msd unit is nice. I like that it has inputs for fans, a/c and ignition. I'd take you up on that tallhair but I'm in NY. I found a bunch of bb 727s on car-part cheap but they ask if the vehicle was a 350hp or a 375. Is there a difference in the transmissions?

As far as my recollections go the big block transmissions for 440's were only different for the 440 six pack model which pumped out 390 horsepower and had a hemi 727 fitted to them.
