Epic Whoops thread.

Yeah, love those "share the road" signs .. I will when cyclists "share the taxes" I pay every gallon of gas I buy....

We had a cycling event in our area and I was riding my GoldWing at the time when I approached a large group of cyclists that refused to give me the right of way so I could safely overtake them
I politely as possible pointed this out that they needed to ride single file
Most ignored me
Karma came quickly as just up the road was a police officer directing traffic
I stopped and reported the riders and he hauled them aside when they got to his location
A BIG problem today is lack of respect for the rules of the road
Doesn’t matter what most are riding, or driving cars, trucks, scooters big or small and cyclists included
There is no respect. Period...:soapbox:

If "zipper merge" was taught and enforced the roads would be much more efficient. In some countries, such as Germany, drivers who don't zipper merge get ticketed. Here they just create massive traffic jams and multitudes of fender benders.

poor chebbie...hope the owner is alright...not sure the circumstances...my thoughts are to make that kind of front end damage you need speed and it looks like residential...maybe brake failure...no super heavy skid marks?

That’s an impressive column, only a few scuff marks.:wideyed:

Jesus, I thought the first pic was a result of someone taking a panoramic shot while the car was moving...
57 Chevs were my very first love. Kinda heartbreaking. Hope dude or dudette was ok.

With that hairpin turn you would think your speed would be around 15 mph...at first I though maybe the chebbie parking brake might have failed on the hill...But, there is slight brake skids...so someone was in there.

I'don know, doesn't look like the jaws of life were used and those old non-collapsible steering columns of the 50's were killers. :(:(:(:(:(
Yea, the position of the steering wheel doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
I can't remember if this was posted up here or if it was just something I unfortunately happened upon on Youtube but it's pretty savage.

Yea but look at all the brown rust dust from the 1959 BelAir. How weakened was that old classic from corrosion? My 1968 Fastop met it's demise coming in contact with a immovable object at about 45mph to the LF headlight stoveing it back to where the front wheel should of been. Collapsible steering column did it's job with the steering wheel bent from where I was gripping it, I had the lap belt on but ended up with a serious eyebrow gash from kissing the horn ring or steering wheel. The car stood up pretty well for being 15 years old but it didn't have much sub-frame or body rust with just the lower trunk quarters showing some from the debris that collects down there. It pretty much looked like the red 57 Chevy but without the driver door and quarter panel distortion, Uni-body vs Full Frame.

Also in my 1968 Fury III 4dr, while waiting in line to make a left turn into the Liquor Supermarket I was rear ended in the RR taillight by a drunk kid in a 1968 Nova.
Score: Nova totaled (looked like the 1959 BelAir), 1968 Fury, RR bumper pushed in about a inch, front bumper pushed back with minor grill and no hood damage, 60's something Pontiwack Station Wagon, whole rear of car bent in half and looked like it was jacked up, 1965 Ford Mustang that the Pontiwack went into Totaled (kind of a rust bucket).
I was the only car that drove away. :D
