I remember having a beer in the driveway of the owner of cab company I serviced the cabs for looking over one of the new Crown Vic's he had just got when his neighbor came over to inquire that if I would look at his wife's Mercedes diesel 4dr. Said they had a lot of problems with it, but I can't remember the specifics but I do remember the sound of the engine, printing press sound, I mean it was hammering like a rod(s) knock and these houses were on very large lots in the old part of town and the running car was like 50 yards away from me.
One of those cars that hadn't had it's oil changed in 40k miles and this was in the days before synthetics.
I just laughed and gave him a firm NO!
