It COULD stay afloat.. IF! The crew knows their stuff. There was a True story from back in the late 40’s or 50’s of the East coast of Mass. bout a similar ship accident. A move was made about it too. The title escapes me….. Anyone???

Least the cable didn't break, not like the vid from one of the gore sites way back when where the cable snaps and whiplashes back trough the cab of some fairly new huge agricultural tractor decapitating the operator. (nasty)

Oh I watched that movie, 1952 it happened, a little bit before my time in Massachusetts, I was there for the Perfect Storm episode, remember that where (I remember) the NorthEaster blew for 7 days steady at just below hurricane level (74mph) went out to the coast to watch that.
They can get some nasty storms up there.
