I admit the picture is gross:
my 1st question is: why is there no blood and why is there no bulge in the skin from such a large hook?
My 2nd question is: how fast does a hook have to be traveling in order to embed sideways into a finger that it goes up under the fingernail to that extent?
My 3rd question is: the angle of impact would have to be almost perfect, because there's very little space between the skin below the nail and the bone below that. What is the chance of this happening?
I just have trouble believing the picture is real.

A customer of my boss had this towed in, it's a 78-79 Camaro, but this is the whoops part. The guy's son says it has a oil leak and won't start...... So I put it on the hoist and find this......
I put a socket and ratchet on the crank and the engine won't roll, pulled the drain plug and coolant came out first. I am guessing a broken piston or rod and it broke through a cylinder wall. WHOOPS.
