F... I Want A Hellcat!

Or the sound of that supercharged Mopar breaking loose at 80MPH when you stomp on the foot feed....scared the beejeezus out of me! Took 2 days to wipe the smile off my face.

Say what?
You're saying you were do 80mph in top gear, stomp on it, it down shifted, and the tires broke loose?
You had to have done that on an iced over road...

Nope it was May cool day maybe 15 degrees C doing 125kmh slammed down the throttle assend wiggled rpms jumped and I just about pooped myself however factory tires were cold road still had winter gravel on it many other excuses but that car scared me and the tech riding along.

Quote from an owner on Hellcat.org

"And any acceleration just a smidgen too much breaks the tires loose and I dont care what speed im at- they will break loose at 20mph, at 30mph, at 40 mph. shiit ive spun them at 50 mph. I cand drive down the road in Drive and just stomp on it at 50 mph and it gets sideways.

The fastest car I ever drove was not the most powerful. In fact it was much less powerful than the Hellcat. This was a MB SL55AMG @500HP or SL65AMG @600HP... I never got past 100MPH which is when the 12 would have made a real difference. The reason these cars were so fast and any idiot could drive them was lots of computer controlled systems the entire suspension adjusts in real time along with engine, braking, traction control, stability assist... these cars won't do a burnout without heroic effort, when you do something stupid like a WOT U-turn, don't counter steer this thing goes where you point it. Experienced drivers would notice a bit of interference from the car and get frustrated they couldn't drift or burnout in one... sometimes we had to teach an owner how to do a burnout against the computer controls.

The Hellcat without all of that crap in it will definitely let someone get over their head... quick. And its still going to be more controllable than a super modified muscle car. Point is... any idiot can drive the computer heavy MB and not even know how much the car is saving them. An idiot in a very high powered 60s or 70s car is Darwinism waiting to happen. The Hellcat is in between... not wise to take it for granted. And your right, I haven't had a chance to drive one yet... I saw the specs for what systems are there and are not there... this is a machine that could be a lot of fun, or too much car for the driver real easily.
