Factory 4-Speed-C-Body-Photo-Thread

1965 Sport Fury on ebay for $18.900,- VIN P452253113

Needs paint and needs interior work.
Seller said they got it on trade (so perhaps not savvy on C-bodies?) and they were going to paint it.
Can't imagine what they'd want for it if it were shiny.

Appears to have manual steering, perhaps that's why the PS pump is not hooked up at all.
"It is an aftermarket A/C car, needs finished being hooked up."
No, they installed the compressor. Looks like the factory heater box is missing. 80% more work needed.

Are prices on things really going this high or are sellers just out of touch?

I'm sure in this thread there are at least a handful of 4-speeds with AC.
The triple-black 440-4spd 68 VIP of Mr Puig comes to mind as likely to be the rarest.
A notable number of the 300L 4-speeds likely have AC also.

But the problem of having 21 pages so far is that things are gonna get repeated.

Talk about an incorrect air cleaner!

Sweet car otherwise. Love the silver over blue, even the beach seat is totally fine with me. Have a link to the thread?
Yeah I know Scott, the air cleaner is definitely wrong and at least for a ‘72 and up. But I love the silver with the blue too. The car wasn’t talked about in an actual post, the pictures are just in a post called “random picture thread” over there. Here is the link though, its on page 4415 post 88,299.

Found a video of the car after searching the image. All I needed was 27 seconds to confirm what many of us thought, it's not real. Born a 383-2 auto. I still like it, those colors are great.

So - let's do another 65 Fury, shall we?
This one is only a 383, though.
Aside from some sketch throttle springs, an alum intake/air cleaner and the wrong PS pump, the underhood looks fairly original.
FWIW, the side trim and faded mark of the missing fender emblem suggest the parts car is a '66.
Price is either $4000 or $6000. I would say $3500 should be in the ballpark of closing a deal?

Good color combo and cosmetics look really good on this one.
Seatcovers look nice and fresh.
The brighter-red inserts on the doorpanels are not correct, but they look great, at least.
Perhaps a prior owner liked the '66 wheelcovers over the 65s.

But the air cleaner is a tragedy on this car.
As is the oil pan. Somebody obviously took this car apart to paint everything, yet they didn't spend the time and $100 to find a decent replacement oilpan?
For an optimistic $79k, it shouldn't have those 2 bugaboos.

That air cleaner is I’m guessing for a 383? It’s the same that came on my 383 powered 66 300. This car should have the small diameter round unsilenced unit since it’s a 413, correct??
Travis..

That air cleaner would be for 361, 383-2, 340hp 413 and '66 440 350hp.
383-4 would use either the unsilenced or a dual-snorkel version of it, and the '66 440 TNT would also use that dual-snorkel version.
Yes, the 413HP would use the unsilenced, as would the 383-4 HP engines - I don't have full understanding of the usage of the HP 383 vs a 'regular' 383 4-barrel.

The bigblock 2 and 4-barrel carbs both had 4-1/2" necks during that period. 67 brought a bunch of aircleaner changes.

My 325 horse 4 barrel 383 in 66 had that single snorkel, but it also has single exhaust. Was there a dual exhaust 383 available in these cars, or just the high output 413-440 cars got duals? I know that the small diameter black unsilenced air cleaner would be right on this 65, but I think they look funny on a big block due to the small size. I recently put a large 67 unsilenced unit on my 66 and it looks right at home.

Dodge and Chrysler both had a 383-4 with single exh, rated at 315 hp, in 65-66. Single exh and single snorkel would be correct.
Plymouth 383-4 got dual snorkel/dual exh and 325hp rating (often noted as 330) - no 315hp versions in Plymouth.

The Chrysler/Dodge might've used the 256° 2-barrel cam, while the 325hp version I believe had a 268° cam?
I believe Dodges also got the 325hp version in some packages, as Ross has alluded to.

FWIW, the 383-4 in my 65 Sport Fury 4-speed is stamped with an 'HP'.
