Fan Belts

[73 Polara Wagon]

I need some help with fan belt sizes. I'm not sure if the correct belts are on to begin with so I don't want to replace them without finding out what is suppose to be there. We have a 1973 Polara 440 4bbl with air & power steering.

1. Go to http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=107 and download the 1973 Factory Parts Book
2. Go to page 7-16 and find illustration that matches your car.
3. Go to pages 7-2 to 7-4 and find your application, note numbers
4. Go to http://www.gates.com/all-search-tools/search-by-application and search for numbers by interchange.

You can just go to step 4 and search by car application but if you have doubts the parts stores have the correct numbers then you may need to do your research.

The parts stores didn't have reference for my Leece-Neville alternator belts so I needed to search by the factory part number
