Today I witnessed a new beginning to this forum. As our name implied, FCBO...it has now taken a new direction. While I understand those that want to have a "place", I also understand the integrity of the original forum. To breach the original forum is to weaken the original intent. Yes, correctness is what we have learned to do. Is it right? Maybe, maybe not. To be an ole soul intertwined with our ole soul cars is beauty beyond words. It is understandably how we want to fit in somewhere. When our wants corrupt the original intent, it is beholden upon the owner to decide if they are willing/capable to destroy the mission. Ego is a very hard thing to understand. Started at a young age we have tried to push our way in, to fit in...this is projected in to our adulthood. Sometimes, it is better to let go and just go along with the crowd. Does that mean you have failed? No, it means that you conform with those around you. The majority. Speak your mind, but don't divide what has been good to you.
From Marian's mind to you.

Marian you are very diplomatic. I don't agree with the expansion since it dilutes the integrity of this board. C Bodies suffer enough of an identity crisis in the hobby without further muddying the waters. They belong in the off topic area. Do I agree with it ... no. Will I boycott for C Bodies Only ... no.

It seems like every gasser I see is a GM or ford product... am I the only one who thinks these cars would make a bitchin gasser?

I don't see any issues with this.. really! But I'm still a newbie here..

I always look forward when I drive.. forward that is, otherwise I look backwards when I reverse.
It's just safer that way..
:eek:ld_school:

Seriously, I think that here is valid opinions for both sides.

but I think the general idea is that we all have a common interest in preserving a part of automotive history regardless on the year and model that we own.

I think we need to suppport each other regardless of the year or model of Mopar's here in the membership.

I will now return to the ground from my short pedestal I climbed up on.
Thanks and have a great day everyone!

The GM guys do it with fullsize buicks, why not FL car? Straight axle front, superstock leaves out back, a blown 528 hemi and a 4-speed? Gassers look mean as hell, and so do FLs. Of course, im the opposite of a purist

I agree with Marian and Fred.

I really like forward look cars, had some myself etc.
I even posted pics of them here from a swedish car show.
So having a thread about them once in a while: great. But an own section? No

What happens if people turn up and say we need to have k-cars here, too as we don't have a home for front wheel drive ****?

If it grows, give it its own site. If it dies... well then that's that, right? And these cars have some familiar names if im not mistaken. as far as k-cars go, I agree. FWD should have died in 1966 with the tornado

Good advice. What do you consider growth? 5 cars or 10?

OK... My 2cents...

The Forward Look cars get discussed here from time to time. To me they represent the change from old cars to modern cars. The change from 1954 to 1955 is night and day.

IMHO, they fit in real well with the C-bodies. They're big, powerful, have distinct looks and a lot of attitude.

I've been on some of the "older" Mopar forums. Like Will says, the other members... Well... Let's say they leave something to be desired in their attitudes. I never understood that myself...

Adding the sub forum is a good idea. If you don't like Forward Look cars, then don't read that section. Pretty simple. If it doesn't get any traffic... delete it. Again.. Very simple. There's nothing gained by not trying something different.

Then again.. what do I know about forums....

I think the important thing is that we all have a thing for big-*** mopars, right? And tho its a little off topic, ive seen more love for 4 doors here than anywhere else. These cars (FL & C bodies) are uncommon, have little to no aftermarket, don't handle well, or stop well, and they use ungodly amounts of gas. But we love them all the same.

yes, that is correct. But: What is a big-*** Mopar? Are the pick ups here soon, too? Or huge Dodge Trucks from the 60s? They are really big and don't have their own board either. How about new Dodge Durangos? Despite the size of a car I guess there will be some guys who think their Dodge Colt or Dodge Omni is a bad *** Mopar, too.
The pre 55 Mopars are big and the Dodge Diplomats built till 1989. Vipers do have a bright butt, too.
Where is the beginning? Where is the end?

Is this FCBO or the "don't know elswhere to go with my Mopar board"?

So does the Dodge Omni 4-door. Following the logic it should get its own department, too

Just my 2 cents

I see both sides of the fence.. This is fcbo, not bamv (bad *** mopar vehicles). However, I do think the forward look cars will fit in just fine here, if it does take off. We do share the same aspects of owning these types of cars. I think we can all learn from each other, share input, and ideas.

This is coming from a blumo guy though.... :shruggy: However, still a C body! :thebirdman: :icon_biggrin:

If it does end up taking off, then maybe do as mentioned, and make them their own site.

This wouldn't happen on the A, B or E boards. We're the Rodney Dangerfields of the hobby. "When I was a kid I got no respect. The time I was kidnapped, and the kidnappers sent my parents a note they said, "We want five thousand dollars or you'll see your kid again."
