FCBO..really?

Wow, where does one begin and what can one person say not offending another person..(like the K-car and the '66 Toronado) especially when I just purchased one. Maybe there should of been some type of vote but one thing is certain.....younger members will be needed to keep the hobby and C-bodies to continue. Is this any differant that the type of cars or who is attending car shows or better yet look around...how many are younger than 30 or 35? If a person comes here initially to look at one of the newly created pages, its likely they will look at other pages here. Perhaps my take on this is not the same as yours. There are plenty of things I like in my life and don't want to change (ex.consol T.V. in my living room w/lava light on top).

Well I have to admit I partial to a '59 Plymouth Sport Fury!

I love the forward look. I've owned 3 before my NYB,T&C and Imperial. To me they ARE C bodies by any other name. It's just that Chrysler never gave them a body letter before. It wasn't an industry standard to do so back then. These were the fore runners to the cars we all love. I think it's splitting hairs to blow them off here. Now K cars..... well that's another story. Lol

Younger? Not many and it is not as though we could change that. There is a sea change going on in the 18-30 year old group for sure. They are buying less cars whether new or used. I cannot believe how many 18-20 year olds have been through my office this year and they don't have a license. This is California, the automobile culture state, and they don't have a license. When they get one they end up driving their parents hand me down Accord or Camry. Car manufacturers better pay attention.

Hey all... I know I'm not as active on this forum as I'd like to be,or as active as I should be. But no matter, I love FCBO! I just felt I should weigh in with my 2 cents. For whatever its worth. I'll be completely honest that when I bought my 65 Fury I didn't even know it was a "C Body". I simply Google searched 65 Fury and wound up finding this forum, I haven't looked back. There are so many good people on here with decades of knowledge about these wonderful cars. I see it as the most important tool in my toolbox. As well as good quality entertainment!!! Since I've owned my car I have also become a huge Fury fan. Y'all have really turned me on to wanting a 70 model!!! But , I also would love to have a 62. Man those are awesome! Also love the 63s and 64s. They are all however "B bodies" I guess... I also love the 58. Christine is a badass Fury! If I'm ever lucky enough to own any of these cars I will still want to hang out on FCBO... If y'all would still have me! My 65 Fury ain't going anywhere soon tho. So, I guess I'm saying a sub forum would be cool with me. I just like lookin at big, mean Mopars!

I see both sides of this, the way I see it the forward look cars are the direct predecessors to the C-Body, at that time you didn't have small medium large, just large.

Do I see other spinoffs? no, I don't think a wayward K-Car owner would end up here. As it is the Forward Look cars are often mistaken as C-Bodies.

As it is I see the forum structure is a little redundant.

Aside from the market place I put most of my stuff in a thread for each car and not the different arenas i.e. Engine, Body, Interior.

I'm happy to see all the input on the C body/FL subject. What I see is basically the same car with different designations. C bodys are really just an extension of the FL era cars.

I suppose being an older enthusiast who experienced both eras and having seen the transition throughout the years allows me a deeper appreciation of the Mopar phenomenon as opposed to one who "discovered" C bodys through acquisition of one or even fond memories.

There are some posts here that suggust a "threat" to the intregraty of the site. With a little more understanding of Chryslers history during the era's this could be dispelled and a better understanding of the link between the FL period and C bodys achieved.

Some just seem to want to resist change or advancement with rederict about K cars and pick up trucks. Best advise ...... Don't go to the FL section.

It will either work, or it won't. In the mean time enjoy some new found knowledge about our beloved Mopars and/or contribute if you can.

Best advice out of all this thus far. Id you don't know by now I have no love for FL cars, in my eyes the FL car is the greatest example of disingenuous automobile design ever thrusted upon the public...to put it simply they are ugly as sin, from the outside inwards....DUI...designing under the influence. Nevertheless, I don't think having a subsection for them will hurt FCBO in any measurable way and fail to see what the brew ha ha is all about.

Gary is afraid that era will return. Help the guy out.

I get that some don't want the dilution of the term C body here, but those FL cars are just C bodies before Chrysler had to make smaller sized cars to give them a body nomenclature. If we want to get technical... Imperials aren't C bodies either until the 74/75 Model years. So those too would have to be banned.from here. I personally don't mind if there is a FL section. I like ALL full size cars. Maybe if we incorporate all the biggies the name should be changed to For Fullsize Only. FFO ??

Over on FBBO they actually put in a strictly political sub forum, what the Fluck is that all about??? We're talking about adding a car related sub forum to a forum based on cars here people, not only that but its about cars we talk about on almost a daily basis! Damn, how do you guys feel about healthcare??.....
imo this forum has as much to do about the people as it does their cars and if you all are going to continue to post I'm going to continue to join you. I almost don't care what we're talking about.

It took me 22 yearz to take the Batwagon all the way down and bring it all the way back with what I consider to be tastful 300 modz. The 300 thing waz done to intentionally PO the eastern 300 club President and I succeded even beyond my exptations. Right down to the point of not being invited to 300 partys in Michigan for close to 20 yearz when every club member within 500 miles got a written invitaion 'cept me. And I laughed because that told me that I had accomplished my goal. He even refused to send me my 25 year membership pin and went to meet his maker ah couple yearz ago and I know hiz nose waz still out of joint!... IF ONE IZ NOT ENOUGH HEREZ ANOTHER. I inadvertently left my Regestration on my dash at Carlisle last July and took 2nd place for best 300 in the letter car class and I laughed. One of my alleged 300 car-bud friendz e-mailed me when the word got out that I'd taken a 2nd at Carlisle and actually suggested that I apologize to the entire 1000 member club for my false win and I sent him 3 linez of LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH. And you thought the FL group waz ah little off plumb. Some where, some how, some have lost sight of the fact that this iz after all ah hobby and their just toyz folks of which we are temporary care takerz. And yeah gotta know that he with the most toyz still diez. They're out there everywhere and they walk among us, Jer

I have nothing against owners of other cars visiting this board but I came here wanting to associate with C Body owners. If they want to discuss their cars in the off topic area be my guest. IMHO there should be no sub-forums for other cars on this board. Since I'm in the minority and the members here are generally great I'll just stay and continue to voice my opinion.

come on . . . you'd tell THIS GUY to go away?

He would not be welcomed because of the left rear window being in the up position. It would be better if he smashed the window with a hammer rather than letting the car be photographed in that condition.

A C-Body owner would understand and make that sacrifice.
