Fiberglass scoop install on metal hood

FYI this guy has one on MP. It looks like it has the flange on the inside. Good price.

mopar hood scoop
Awesome thanks for the link I'm gonna buy this one the hidden flanges will look better than bolting on the fiberglass one I have, I will probably just sell the fiberglass one at the spring fling car show when I go. Again thank you I'll let you all know how it goes

lol. It’s his car. A lot of you guys don’t like the v10 in my Fury. To each their own. I would never put a max wedge scoop on any C body after the slab side years but I think it will look good on that car.

Did you buy the scoop? I see he marked it sold. Make sure you show us when you’re finished.

No i talked to the guy asked him about the bracket mount he replied and I asked him if he would ship it he didn't respond then he marked it as sold so It looks like I'm just going to use the fiberglass one I have. Thanks for the advice

I did not want a scoop but, I wanted a large air filter and to not choke the air flow down. I had a hood with the bracing rotted out and a good skin, so I built a matching scoop with the skin. We bonded the metal scoop to the metal hood. I realize I have a B but, a scoop is a scoop.

So I need was able to find a max wedge scoop with hidden flange for the bolts instead of the other one I had but now I'm torn between painting my hood black before I install it or keeping blue. Any opinions?

Paint the hood and scoop separately so you don’t have dry or thin coverage under the scoop.
Yea I'm not sure if I really want to go through the hassle of prepping and painting the whole hood. Id rather color match the hood scoop to the car but that's also to much of a pain in the ***.

Then paint it on a stand at the same time.

Paint them at the same time with the same gun of paint. They will match.
I meant matching the blue that the car already is I'm probably just going to paint the scoop same color I painted the grill and call it a day maybe in the future if I paint the whole car I can match it all up.

I would do as suggested above and get another hood. That way you keep the matching hood and can put the scoop on another one that you can paint black. The support in the center is a must. I would assume you are going to cut the hood to let air into the motor, if not why bother.

Yea if I could find another hood I'd go that route for sure but so far no luck in my area. As for cutting the hood my plan is to use a hole saw and cut 4 to 6 2.5 in holes depending on when I do full mock up what fits. I'm going to do hole so I can put rubber plugs when it rains to keep water out.
