Hi folks, this is my first time on a forum so sorry if I break etiquette. I am attempting to restore my family heirloom, a 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible. It has a 383 backed by an auto. I know where to find engine and transmission parts, but I was wondering where you folks find brake and suspension parts? Additionally, I am attempting to track down a fuel tank, if anyone knows where I can find one. I am always seeking knowledge, so if any of you know something about these cars, I would appreciate input.

What brake and suspension parts are you looking for? Many of the common parts can be found at your local parts store, Rock Auto, etc. Suspension can be found there too, but some parts are of suspect quality. P-S-T is a vendor on this site that has front end suspension kits, I put one on my car and have no complaints. They also give you a 10% discount for being a member here.

For the fuel tank, Vans (I think) just came out with a tank for your car, $300 or so but worth it. They have filler necks and sending units if you need those too.

Thanks for the reply! These seem to be good resources. Pardon my amateur question, but a I correct to assume that most if not all C-Body parts/kits will fit my vehicle?

They are the same for certain years for common components, tie rods, ball joints, etc. The websites should break down .the selections based on year of vehicle.

Certain items ARE 1965 - 1973 "C" Body - ALL - ....... but MANY are NOT.......
The Front ROTORS for example are 1966 - 1968, 1969 - 1972, and 1973 & up --- and ALL 3 are V E R Y different......
The Fuel Pump is 1965 - 1968 "C" and 1969 - 1971 "C" , and 1972 & up --- and ALL 3 are V E R Y different......
If "everything were the same" there would be no need for these forums, no need for parts stores, etc., etc. -- we could all
just find things next to the string beans in the supermarket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call me anytime you need --- I am 100 % accurate 100 % of the time -- mistakes are costly......
(I went 6 years without a single mistake, and made 1 three years ago -- never got his 2nd motor mount in the bag -- and had to eat the shipping
to send it to him -- there went the profit on the pair.... oh well... my mistake ultimately!!!!! -- been perfect again for 3 years since....)

So essentially, when looking for parts, I should search by year and body correct? I'm probably oversimplifying.
Also, what is your price on four wheel discs? Nothing super high performance (I'm building a cruiser, not a rod), just something that will stop this heavy car.

I recommend you get a copy of the factory service manual and parts manuals for your 66. Some guys are walking encyclopedias and know their parts and applications inside and out, but I am not one of them. I have to study the manuals to be sure I understand exactly what it is I need so I can be sure I ask for and receive the right part without a lot of trial and error. Proof of how nerdy I am is that I actually enjoy reading the service manual and going through the parts manuals and learning about how my cars were put together and all the different varieties of parts are out there. Having these resources available has saved me untold heartburn and trouble over the last 30 years, so I offer this advice to you in the hope that it will help you avoid unnecessary heartburn and trouble, too. Welcome aboard. There are a lot of guys here who are true experts and can help you through just about anything.

Thank you both for your replies. I will have to get my hands on these books.

Edit: Even better, they are downloadable!
