Flickering Dash and Headlights '66 300

In a perfect world removing the windshield and dash frame is best to access the dash pad.
Otherwise keep the gauze bandages and wrap handy for the sharp edges from working upside down and backwards lol

Another mod to consider is a wiring harness that member Crackedback sells. It runs the HLs through relays. Really clean mod, simple to install. Your lights will be much brighter as well as your dash lights

Crackedback usually hangs out on FBBO or FABO

He built me an awesome harness with 10 gauge feeds for my power and my high beams. I run 100w bulbs in Hella H1 lamps.

I dig 10 gauge wiring for headlights! The 50 yr old incandescent Westinghouse low beam and GE high beam bulbs I scored flood the street with lovely, pearlescent light when I run them, and voltage drop has decreased as a consequence of using these high ampacity conductors with Bosch-Tyco relays.

I had originally considered going to LEDs in a sealed beam housing, but decided after being annoyed by 1000 too many arselochers blinding other drivers with their over-powered LEDs to buck the trend and instead set a righteous example. The old DOT approved stuff made the same era as our rides really provides better light too. Human eyes don't register blue-violet so well as they do RED-YELLOW light, which our ancestors evolved with.

My original plan was NOT to run high powered LEDs but rather the opposite: LOWER power for the SAME output. I see this can be done, but few folks bother. Then I scored a case of those Westinghouse low-beams for absurdly little money....

Gonna jump in on this one. I have a brand new battery, brand new altenator and coil, and just got done installing a new voltage regulator couple minutes ago. I bought a headlight wiring harness and relay. The headlights and battery part look straight forward. Was looking in my manual to no avail though, can someone confirm the exact location of where the harness plugs into the existing lighting system? Is it in the engine bay near the battery? Have two big fuse box looking things that plug into the stock wiring. Just want to make sure I don't spend a ton of time chasing my tail.

Follow the wires back from the headlights, into the harness, on to the firewall.

Sorry. Novice. Would it be by the voltage regulator? I see a cluster of wires into a box on the firewall there. Reason I'm confused is these plugs seem pretty big, pic attached, and I don't see anything overly obvious to unplug and connect to it. Maybe it's a small wire that just happens to be connecting to a big aftermarket harness?
