I like the rear of the 1960 best. Good they had second thoughts about the initial front end design and discarded the Jimmy Durante nose.

I also love those old '58-'59 Mercury 2 door wagons. I remember seeing a '58 Ford (Courier?) 2 door delivery sedan that I thought was really cool. So far, I've only seen one Mopar 2 door wagon but it wasn't a hardtop. I think it may have been a Dodge. I don't know if Mopar built delivery sedans. It would sure be cool to have one if they did!

That '59 Edsel would have been beautiful if they hadn't put that center grille in there. IMO they should have just had the horizontal grille continue straight across for a clean look. They didn't learn their lesson for 1960 either. I would have liked it much better without the vertical split in the grille. I don't hate the Edsel but it's not one of my favorites either. If you ask me, it took Pontiac to get this look right on their '68-'69 full-size cars.
The Edsels would have been beautiful cars if it wasn't for that separate vertical grille. The rest of the car was nice looking. Comparing them to some of the new cars, they really aren't so wierd looking anymore anyway.:laughing4: My favorite FoMoCo picks for '60 would have been the 2 door Galaxies/Starliners, the 2 door Mercury's and then the 2 door Edsels. Hardtops or convertibles would be fine with me.

Yea, what the heck right?? The future looks absolutely nothing like what I was told it would look and be like back when I was in my high school days.

Line up a 59 Ford, Edsel, and Mercury in front of you.
Remove the center grill on the Edsel.
Now you have 2 Fords and a Mercury or a Ford and 2 Mercuries. Your choice.

I have never hated a car, the people who buy them, or what it represents as much as that one.
