For the Fusey Imperial Lovers

Hopefully whoever ends up with this car shares a bunch of pictures, it seems to be in great shape.
Until mentioned here, the thought never crossed my mind that B5 blue appears as a high impact color when sprayed on a Imperial. As I've said a time or two, when I was a kid my parents hauled us around in a B5 Imperial with a white top. To me it comes across as extremely classy...it certainly influenced my decision to buy one :D

Thanks for the confirmation of B5 Imperial "desire", I needed that as I'm honestly struggling with should an Imperial have this color. I can see both sides of that issue, but in person it "pops". When I first saw it I told the owner I didn't even know you could get an Imperial in B5 in '73. I'm going back over this afternoon for another inspection. My C-body barn is full so there's going to have to be one or two leave to make room for this girl if it works out or park my pickup outside which I really don't desire.

You should take more pics then and share!

At the end of the day (figuratively)...I hope a forum member here gets this Imperial home to their garage.

B5 Imperials look very nice... I could go for it...
However,, Tawny Gold suxz a big one.. Whoever thought that color
should be castrated and made to eat remains then killed...
Sadly,, my wagon is that color.... Wish it was F8.. Hell,, even B5
would be better...

I guess I am not going to say no to a Tawny Gold Imp if this local one comes available and price is right...too convenient.

Perhaps. But I have a feeling the targeted Imperial buyer of 1972 didn't describe anything as "sucking a big one".

Absolutely appropriate Imperial color.

Understand, it's not that I don't like the car or the color. And 45 years later, nothing could be less relevant. But do you know why you could not get hi-impact colors on an Imperial? Because few buying a $8000 car in '73 wanted that image. Just like I can't get a new 300C in Header Orange. B5 is bright enough that it should have been prohibited.

Btw, the pastels they offered back them (of which I've owned one of each) are a bit different. And most luxury cars have always offered a bright red, because it's a "thing".

In summary, the car looks nice but Imperial already had issues with being too close to less-expensive Chryler products. This car's colors didn't help. Even the interior color is cribbed form the rest of the Chrysler line. A nice, navy blue would have been attractive and more fitting with its competitors.
Carmine...the Rallye Red (E5) 72 Imperial I have was ordered by a MD in Paxton Illinois...that must have been a really low percentage color back then for Imperials versus( E7) and other milder/ darker colors in the upper class, right?...like the (B5) I imagine.

Yeah, I am no fan of tawny gold either, but in my case, I went ahead and bought a 2 door 71 Imperial with that color because at least it was original paint, had a gold bucket seat interior and a matching tawny gold vinyl roof. And because it only has 46K miles on it. The tawny gold that Carmine likes seems to be a different, and more pleasant shade on the formal models, IMO. But I have learned to adapt to this one some.

I had a ‘71 Super Bee project a few years ago. It was a 383 3 spd manual car that was Tawny Gold with black stripes and the tan interior originally and I bet it was sharp back in the day.

It's should be noted that Tawny Gold isn't my first choice, but it is an interesting and "sophisticated" color. Way better than a straight beige or metallic gold. Entirely appropriate for an Imperial... and what makes it right for Imperial makes it wrong for a Duster.

I think tawney gold (GY9) is really ugly.
Anytime on any car
