I went through the assembly plant in Delaware back when they were building Plymouth Acclaims and Dodge Spirits along with a Chrysler version for export. They all went down the same line, one after another, Dodges, Plymouths and Chryslers intermixed.

It somehow verifies those stories of cars with Dodge emblems on one side and Plymouth on the other.

They would crush some of these micro cars on the road today!!

Back in about 1978 my dad had a town car Lincoln and we had a Dodge dart go up against it and it never stood a chance.
The front end of the Dart got ripped up pretty badly and the Lincoln had a scratch and a slightly dented front bumper.
LOL!!

A minivan hit my parked 78 New Yorker a couple of weeks ago. Minimal damage to my NYB and I was informed that they are going to total the minivan because of the damage to the frame and body.

The only beenfit to the car getting ripped apart is not taking the impact as the occupant of the car. Crumple zones serve a purpose.

Speaking of wrecked cars... here's what a 1961 New Yorker looks like after an 18 wheeler backs into it, hooks bumpers, drives forward pulling my car completely out of the parking spot, then backing up to shove mine back into the same parking spot. I wasn't present when it happened but I know for a fact that it came completely out of the spot because my front bumper dragged the side of the Ford Probe next to it and peeled it like a sardine can! Not even a scratch on my front bumper.

I think it was in 95 or 96 , drove a chrysler cordoba as a daily ,
with about ten cars in front of me driving trough the green light after heavy rainfall doing 30 miles i think ....... looking 2 seconds to the left , then i see everybody ,s standing on the brakes , me to but a little late...hit 2 cars before me , a mazda 323 and he hit the honda accord in front of him , both cars with damage .
So we waited all 3 for the police and they were looking at the damage of the jap-cars and asked me what i was doing there............because they didn,t found a scretch on the cordoba...:glasses2:

In my original 67 Newport, I was at a Stop sign and a beetle drove into the back of me.
Me: scatched rear bumper
Her: Bug totalled...

FWIW her gas tank ruptured with an almost full tank.
I put out my cigarette.
