Ive got a 68 new yorker 4 door with drums all around. Im in the middle of redoing the brakes and some of the suspension and addressing other issues. Ive got this weird problem: napa lists a part number but they cannot get it from their warehouse. The front and rear shoes appear exactly identical. But they may not be identical in terms of holding force. Heres my question: what is the part number for the front shoes?

Let us know what size engine you have and if you got a power booster, that will help us to narrow it down for you.

Go to Rockauto https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php It's great for looking up parts listings. The drums are all 11" in diameter, but they list either 2 3/4" or 3" wide for your car. Keep in mind that the holddown hardware is different depending on the width. I had to order all the hardware from Rockauto for my Newport....nothing was available locally.

get the holddown nails and that.... boy oh boy I used the wrong size nails and the shoes fell off and it took forever to get the drum off. eons.

You know what's funny? one of the back shoes had a cut in it and it looked like something came off while it was driving and removed some of the lining. Even now I never could find what it was that caused it.

Questions: 68 New yorker 440
1. How do the upper control arm bushings come out? are they press out? because it looks like they are not.
2. What is the part number for the upper ball-joints?
